Lillie'S Apple Squares(Low-Fat) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. margarine
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 egg
    2 c. apples, peeled and diced
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg (optional)
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts
    1/4 c. powdered sugar (optional)
Preparation
    Cream margarine and sugar.
    Add egg and beat well.
    Add apples and stir to blend.
    Set aside.
    Sift flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg.
    Add to apple mixture.
    Fold in nuts.
    Pour into greased or sprayed 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
    Cool.
    Cut into 2-inch squares.
    Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
