Hamburger Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cans tomato soup
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 pkg. or can corn
    8 cheese slices
    mashed potatoes (1 pkg. instant or 1 lb. baking potatoes), peeled and quartered
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1/4 c. milk
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Prepare mashed potatoes according to instant package instructions or cook peeled and quartered baking potatoes in boiling water for 30 minutes until tender. Drain. Mash with potato masher. Add butter and milk. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Set aside. Cook ground beef in a skillet until brown. Drain fat. Add tomato soup and corn (drained, if canned). Mix and transfer to 13 x 9 baking dish. Smooth into bottom layer. Layer mashed potatoes onto beef/soup/corn mixture. Top with cheese. Bake at 300\u00b0 until heated throughout.
