Sukiyaki(Japan) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. round steak
    3 Tbsp. bacon grease
    1/3 c. soy sauce
    3 tsp. sugar
    1 1/2 c. celery, sliced thin in diagonal cuts
    1 small can bamboo shoots and juice
    1 large can Chinese mixed vegetables and juice
    1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms
    Accent
    2 bunches large green onions, cut in 1-inch lengths (use tops also)
Preparation
    Slice meat paper thin into 3 or 4-inch long pieces.
    Brown in bacon grease.
    Mix together soy sauce, sugar and water.
    Add to meat.
    Reduce temperature; cook until tender, about 30 or 40 minutes.
    Place vegetables on top of meat; mix together.
    Add Accent according to directions on container.
    Cook 5 minutes, covered.
    Add green onions; toss with meat mixture for 1 minute. Remove from heat.
    Serve over steamed rice.
    Top with broken pieces of watercress (optional).
    Makes 6 servings.
