Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (5 to 6 lb.) stewing chicken, cut up, or 2 (2 1/2 to 3 lb.) broiler-fryer chickens, cut up
    8 c. water
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    6 eggs
    1/3 c. chicken broth
    1 tsp. salt
    4 to 5 c. all-purpose flour
Preparation
    Combine chicken, water, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon pepper in a 6-quart Dutch oven.
    Bring to boiling; reduce heat.
    Simmer, covered, for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until the chicken is tender. Remove from heat.
    Remove the chicken.
    Skim the fat from the broth.
    As soon as the chicken is cool enough to handle, remove the meat from the bones, chop and set aside.
