Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 c. molasses
2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. soda
2 tsp. ginger
4 c. flour
Preparation

Mix ingredients well.
Chill for a time in the refrigerator. Make into about 1 1/2-inch balls.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
May roll balls in granulated sugar before baking.
