Mexican Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 onion
    1 lb. hamburger
    1 c. corn meal
    1/2 tsp. soda
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 (No. 3) can cream-style corn
    1 c. milk
    2 well beaten eggs
    1/4 c. oil
    3/4 lb. grated Cheddar or rat cheese
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0. Chop onion and hamburger and cook. Drain grease off. In separate bowl, mix corn meal, soda, salt, corn, milk, eggs and oil. Remove meat from skillet. Heat skillet and sprinkle with corn meal. Brown lightly. Do not stir. Pour in 1/2 batter. Place all the meat over the batter. Place cheese on top of meat. Cover with remaining batter and cook in oven 50 minutes; cool 30 minutes before eating.
