Jamaican Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. stewing beef, cut in 1-inch cubes
    4 Tbsp. oil
    2 onions, sliced
    1 clove garlic, crushed
    14 oz. can tomatoes
    2 oz. seasoned flour
    2 oz. butter
    1 green chili, seeded and chopped
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. thyme
Preparation
    Coat the beef cubes in the seasoned flour.
    Melt butter with the oil and add the steak to brown.
    Remove and keep the cubes warm.
    Add the chili, onions, garlic and ginger to the pan and cook gently for 3 minutes.
    Return the meat to the pan and stir with a spoon.
    Cover and simmer for 3 1/2 hours.
    Serve with plain boiled rice.
