Chili Con Carne - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. ground beef (chuck or round)
1 medium size onion, chopped
1 c. celery, chopped
1 c. mushrooms, sliced
1/2 c. green pepper, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
2 Tbsp. corn oil
2 c. fresh or canned tomatoes
1 c. tomato puree
2 tsp. cumin (ground)
2 tsp. chili powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. cooked kidney beans
Preparation

In heavy skillet, brown ground beef, onion, celery, mushrooms, green pepper and garlic in oil.
Stir in tomatoes and tomato puree.
Add seasonings and cover; simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Add kidney beans and adjust seasoning.
Continue to simmer 30 minutes longer.
Yields 6 to 8 servings.
Good served over rice.
