Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 egg
    3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. white sugar
    1/4 c. water
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    3 1/4 c. quick oats
Preparation
    Cream shortening in a large bowl.
    Add sugars gradually, beating until well blended.
    Beat in egg, vanilla and water.
    Stir in remaining ingredients and drop by teaspoonfuls onto well-greased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until golden brown (15 minutes).
    Yields 5 dozen.
