Chow Chow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. cut up green tomatoes
    1 small cabbage head
    2 green hot peppers
    3 small onions (yellow ones)
    vinegar
    1 small c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt (level off even with spoon)
Preparation
    After cutting the tomatoes, put in a cloth sack, squeeze all the juice you can get out before cooking.
    Then cut cabbage, onions and peppers.
    Mix with the uncooked tomatoes.
    Add 1 teaspoon salt.
    Mix well.
    Pour vinegar just enough to cover tomatoes.
    Cook only until tomatoes change color.
    You should not have any juice in them.
    Pack in jars and seal.
    You can use more seasoning if it doesn't taste like you want it to.
