Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. boiling water
    1 c. oats
    1 stick butter or margarine
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. white sugar
    2 eggs
    1 1/3 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix boiling water and oats; let stand for 20 minutes.
    Cream together shortening and sugars.
    Add eggs; beat well.
    Add oat mixture.
    Add dry ingredients and mix well.
    Bake in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan at 275\u00b0 for 35 to 45 minutes.
    While still warm, put topping on cake and return to oven to broil for about 5 minutes.
