Fried Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 cooking apples, quartered and cored, but not peeled
    1/4 c. butter
    brown sugar
Preparation
    Melt butter in heavy pan.
    Place apples, skin side down, in pan.
    Sprinkle generously with sugar.
    Add a little water.
    Cover and cook very slowly until tender and candied.
    Eat them hot. Makes 6 servings.
