Date And Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. dates, chopped
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. hot water
    1 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 egg
    1 1/2 c. flour
    pinch of salt
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Add dates to flour mixture; blend.
    Bake in loaf pan for 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
    Freezes well.
