Creole Okra - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. okra, cut in 1/2-inch pieces
    1 lb. tomatoes, peeled and chopped
    4 Tbsp. oil
    1 medium green pepper, diced
    1 medium onion, sliced
    1/4 tsp. sugar
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Prepare okra and tomatoes.
    Saute onion and green pepper in oil until browned.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Cook covered over medium heat for 30 minutes uncovered for 5 minutes.
    Stir occasionally.
    May be served over 6 cups of cooked rice.
