Chow Chow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 average cabbage heads
    5 sweet peppers
    a little bit red pepper (hot)
    5 cucumbers
    3 large onions
    3 Tbsp. salt
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    3 c. red vinegar
    1 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Wash and chop cabbage, peppers, cucumbers and onions together. Add salt; let stand for 3 hours.
    Drain.
    Boil the sugar, vinegar and celery seed; add to chopped ingredients.
    Can while hot.
