Turtle Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
1 1/2 c. water
1/2 c. oil
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
chopped pecans
1 lb. pkg. caramels
Preparation

Combine cake, butter, water, oil and 1/2 can condensed milk. Mix well.
Pour 1/2 batter into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
Melt caramels and remainder of condensed milk over low heat until smooth.
Spread over cake layer.
Sprinkle generously with pecans.
Cover with remaining cake batter.
Return to oven and bake 25 to 35 minutes. Cool and spread with frosting.
