Welsh Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 oz. self-rising flour
    3 oz. margarine or fat
    3 oz. sugar
    3 oz. raisins
    1/2 tsp. mixed spice
    pinch of salt (optional)
    1 medium egg, beaten
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients except egg into dough.
    Add beaten egg slowly.
    Flour a board and roll dough to 1/4-inch thick.
    Cut into 2-inch squares.
    Grease skillet and cook on low; turn when brown. Cool on a cooling rack and sprinkle with sugar when cool.
