Peanut Patties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. light corn syrup
    dash of salt
    1/2 c. water
    3 c. raw peanuts
    1 stick (1/2 c.) margarine
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    dash of red food coloring
Preparation
    Combine sugar, corn syrup, salt, water and peanuts in a saucepan; bring to a boil.
    When mixture has reached a hard boil, time it to boil 8 minutes, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat and stir in margarine, vanilla and food coloring.
    Beat until very stiff.
    Drop on buttered foil in size of patties desired.
    When cool, wrap each in plastic wrap.
