Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 stick oleo
    1/2 c. white Karo
    2 c. raw peanuts
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    In 1 1/2-quart kettle, cook sugar, Karo and cream of tartar to 257\u00b0.
    Add peanuts.
    Cook to hard crack 310\u00b0.
    Add oleo and let it fully melt.
    Add soda; mix well.
