Bread Pudding - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar (or more)
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 quart milk, scalded
2 cups bread crumbs
1/4 cup melted butter
Preparation

Beat eggs only until mixed.
Add sugar, salt and vanilla.
Pour scalded milk over crumbs and soak well.
Stir in egg mixture and butter.
Pour in greased baking dish.
Set dish in a pan containing 1 inch hot water.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 60 to 75 minutes.
Test as for baked custard.
Cake crumbs may be used instead of bread.
Nuts, raisins, dates or melted chocolate may be added if desired.
