Pickled Peaches - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. sugar
    3 c. vinegar
    3 sticks cinnamon
    3 Tbsp. whole cloves
    5 qt. peaches
Preparation
    Boil sugar, vinegar and spices for 20 minutes.
    Drop peeled fruit in, a few at a time; cook until tender.
    Pack in hot, sterilized jars, adding syrup to 1/2 inch of the top.
    Seal. Yields 5 quarts.
