Perfect Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

1 c. cocoa
2 c. boiling water
1 c. butter or margarine, softened
2 1/2 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Whipped Cream Filling
Perfect Chocolate Frosting
Preparation

Combine cocoa and boiling water, stirring until smooth; set aside.
Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Combine flour, soda, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl; add to creamed mixture alternately with cocoa mixture, beating at low speed of electric mixer, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
Stir in vanilla.
Do not overbeat. Pour batter into 3 greased and floured 9-inch round cake pans. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool in pans 10 minutes; remove from pans and cool completely on wire racks.
Spread Whipped Cream Filling between layers; spread top and sides of cake with Perfect Chocolate Frosting.
Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Makes one 3 layer cake.
