Rice Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. rice
    1 qt. water
    pinch of salt
    1 pt. milk, scalded
    3 eggs, separated
    3 tsp. heavy cream
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. raisins
    2 tsp. powdered sugar
Preparation
    Boil rice in water; add salt. When tender and thick, add scalded milk. Add beaten yolks, cream, sugar and raisins.
    Turn into a buttered baking dish and bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Top with meringue made by beating the egg whites until stiff, then fold in the powdered sugar. Brown in a slow oven for about 12 minutes.
