Blackberry Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. blackberries
    3 c. water
    5 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
    3 Tbsp. soft oleo
    3/4 c. milk
    2 eggs, beaten
    3 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Cook blackberries, water and 5 cups sugar until thickened.
    Mix flour, oleo, milk, eggs and 3 tablespoons sugar to soft dough. Drop by teaspoons into boiling blackberries.
    Cover and let cook 5 minutes (work quickly).
    Serve with cream, Cool Whip or ice cream. Or make dumplings out of canned biscuits, rolled out and cut up, or biscuits can be snipped into 8 pieces with kitchen shears, letting each piece drop into boiling blackberries.
    Cook as directed.
