Beef Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 lb. beef stewing meat
3 Tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
2 Tbsp. hot fat
1 1/2 c. hot water
1/2 c. cut up carrots
1/2 c. cut up turnips
1/2 c. cut up celery
1/2 c. whole tiny onions
2 c. cubed potatoes
1 bay leaf
1 Tbsp. minced parsley
1/2 tsp. thyme
Preparation

Cut meat into 1-inch cubes.
Roll in seasoned flour.
Brown in hot fat in heavy kettle.
Cover with hot water and simmer 1 1/2 hours.
Add other ingredients. Simmer for an additional 30 minutes.
Serves 4.
