Prize Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
    2 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    lemon flavoring
    4 egg whites
    1 c. hickory nut meats
Preparation
    Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add flour and mix.
    Beat egg whites until stiff, then add.
    Chop nuts and add to mix.
    Bake in a loaf pan for 3/4 hour at moderate heat.
