Matrimonial Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. dates
    1 c. white sugar
    1 c. hot water
    2 c. rolled oats, rolled until fine
    2 c. flour
    pinch of baking powder
    pinch of salt
    1 c. butter or oleo
    1 c. brown sugar
Preparation
    Cook dates, sugar and water until dates are mushed up.
    Mix remaining ingredients.
    Mix well and spread 3/4 of it in pan; put date mixture in, then sprinkle remains of rolled oats mixture on top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 30 minutes.
