Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. ground chuck
    1 small onion, cut in half top to bottom, then slice (yields 1/3 c.)
    1 small jalapeno pepper, quarter lengthwise, then chop fine crossways
    1/4 c. chopped green pepper
    15 oz. can Del Monte stewed tomatoes (Mexican recipe)
    15 oz. can kidney beans
    15 oz. can tomato sauce
    8 oz. can tomato sauce (optional; if you prefer thicker, may not need 8 oz. can)
    garlic powder
    chili powder
    dried basil leaves, crushed
    1 tsp. olive oil
Preparation
    In large frying pan, brown hamburger; drain off all liquid. Dust hamburger with garlic powder (petty fair dusting).
    Dust hamburger with chili powder (pretty fair dusting).
    Sprinkle on dash of basil, then stir hamburger to mix seasonings well.
    Place in 4 or 5-quart pot.
