Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. white cornmeal
1 egg, beaten
1/3 c. chopped onion
1 Tbsp. shortening

Preparation

Drop by spoonfuls in deep fat until golden brown.
Makes two dozen.
