Choose-A-Chip Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. packed brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 egg
    2 Tbsp. milk
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. quick cooking rolled oats
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate, butterscotch or peanut butter pieces (1 c.)
Preparation
    Turn oven to 375\u00b0.
    In a large bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, brown sugar, baking soda and salt.
    Add shortening, egg, milk and vanilla; stir with wooden spoon until well mixed.
    Stir in oats and \"pieces.\"
    Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls, about 2 inches apart, onto ungreased cookie sheets.
    Bake in a 375\u00b0 oven for about 10 minutes.
    Cool on cooling rack.
    Makes about 48 cookies.
