Indian Fried Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. white flour
2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. shortening
6 tsp. baking powder
Preparation

Enough water to make a medium stiff dough.
Mix together. Make a ball about 3 inches in diameter and pull the ball into a 6-inch circle with fingers.
Slash sides with sharp knife in about 4 to 5 places.
Heat one inch oil in skillet and when hot, drop in the bread.
Brown on each side and drain. Serve hot with meal or use honey or powdered sugar for dessert.
