Stuffed "Ripe" Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. ground beef
    1 medium onion
    1 medium green pepper
    1 tsp. salt
    6 fresh tomatoes
    mayonnaise (approximately 1 c.)
Preparation
    Brown ground beef with chopped onion and green pepper in skillet.
    Cut off top of tomatoes and scoop out center seedy portion with a spoon.
    Chop center portions.
    Drain ground beef; add salt and chopped center portions.
    Simmer for 1/2 hour.
    Add approximately 1 cup mayonnaise or to taste and heat through.
    Fill tomato shells and serve.
