Green Tomato Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large green tomatoes, sliced
    1 Tbsp. butter
    salt and pepper to taste
    3/4 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Butter casserole dish.
    Lay 1/3 of tomato slices on bottom.
    Sprinkle with salt and pepper and 1/4 of the cheese.
    Repeat with remaining slices.
    Top with 1/2 cup of cheese and dot with butter.
    Bake, covered, 40 to 60 minutes. Brown under broiler if desired.
    This is a simple way to use green tomatoes and it tastes great.
