Brownies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening or 1 stick oleo
1 1/2 sq. unsweetened chocolate
2 eggs (unbeaten)
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. sifted flour (all-purpose)
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1 c. coarsely chopped nuts
Preparation

Melt shortening and chocolate together in pan over low heat. Cool slightly.
Place cooled chocolate mixture, eggs, sugar and vanilla in large mixing bowl.
Blend about 1 minute.
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Add with nuts to first mixture.
Blend until all flour is mixed in.
Pour into greased loaf or bread pan.
Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
Cool in pan and cut in squares.
Makes 16 brownies.
