Frosted Orange Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 pkg. orange Jell-O
    2 c. boiling water
    1 pt. orange sherbet
    1 c. crushed pineapple, drained
    1 c. mandarin oranges, drained
    1 c. pineapple juice
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 egg, beaten
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 pkg. dessert topping mix
Preparation
    Dissolve Jell-O in boiling water. Add sherbet. Stir to dissolve. Cool until partly thickened. Add pineapple and mandarin oranges.
    Pour into large flat cake pan. Chill until firm. Combine pineapple juice, sugar, flour, egg and butter. Cook, stirring constantly, until thick; let cool.
    Stir often. Fold in prepared whipped topping mix. Spread on firm gelatin.
