Mexican Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. cornmeal (self-rising)
    1 (16 oz.) can creamed corn
    1/2 c. oil
    3 eggs
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
    Heat 3 tablespoons oil in an iron skillet.
    Pour batter into skillet and bake in a 375\u00b0 oven for 45 minutes or until done.
    Cool for 10 minutes in pan, then turn out onto a plate.
    Cut into wedges and serve with butter.
