Fresh Christmas Fruit Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. each: cinnamon, ground cloves and nutmeg
1 c. dates, chopped
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. sweet milk
1 c. raisins
2 c. fresh apples
2 c. nuts (pecans)
1 c. blackberry jam
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar, then beat in the eggs.
Mix the dry ingredients, including the spices and stir this mixture in alternately with the milks into the butter mixture.
When well mixed, stir in the fruits, chopped nuts and jam.
Pour batter into 4 greased and floured cake pans.
Bake at 350\u00b0 until done (about 30 minutes).
