Sopaipillas - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    1/3 c. water
    oil for frying
    honey
    butter
    cinnamon
    sugar
Preparation
    Stir together flour, baking powder and salt.
    Cut in 1 tablespoon shortening with pastry blender.
    Gradually add water, stirring with a fork.
    Turn out on lightly floured board.
    Knead into a smooth ball.
    Divide in half; let stand 10 minutes.
    Roll out each half to 10 x 12-inch rectangles. Cut into 2 x 3-inch rectangles.
    Do not re-roll or patch dough.
    Drop 1 at a time into hot oil.
    Lightly brown.
    Serve with honey or sugar.
    Makes 20.
