Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening or oleo
    2 eggs
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
    2 oz. red food coloring (no kidding!)
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. baking soda mixed with 1 Tbsp. vinegar
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening.
    Add eggs.
    Beat well.
    Sift dry ingredients.
    Add alternately to sugar mixture with buttermilk. Add coloring and vanilla.
    Add soda/vinegar mixture and stir only to blend.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
