Grandma'S Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. butter or margarine
    3 eggs
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 c. jam (seedless blackberry)
    2 1/2 to 3 c. sifted cake flour
    1 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ginger
    2 tsp. allspice
    2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 c. raisins
    1 medium apple, grated without peel
Preparation
    Cream sugar and butter.
    Add eggs; mix well.
    In another bowl, combine buttermilk and jam.
    In a third bowl, combine all dry ingredients.
    Add alternately with combined dry ingredients to the creamed mixture.
    Once all ingredients are mixed well, add nuts, apple and raisins.
    Mix well.
    Bake in 3 greased 9 inch cake pans at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Very good with homemade caramel icing.
