3/4 c. sourdough starter
1/2 c. powdered milk
1 c. warm water
1 c. flour
1/4 c. butter or margarine
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. cornmeal
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
Preparation

Mix sourdough, powdered milk and warm water with flour in a large bowl.
Set in warm place 3 to 4 hours.
In small bowl, cream the butter and sugar.
Add egg and beat well.
Pour over starter mix.
Add cornmeal, salt and soda.
Fold ingredients into starter mix until well blended; do not beat.
For thick bread, pour into an 8-inch square pan.
For thin bread, pour into 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake in 425\u00b0 oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
