Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 c. brown sugar
    4 egg yolks
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. jam (blackberry best)
    2 c. cake flour (plain)
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 c. raisins
    1 c. nuts
    4 egg whites
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy.
    Add beaten egg yolks.
    Mix soda, jam and buttermilk; add sifted flour and spices alternately with buttermilk and soda; add raisins and nuts.
    Fold in egg whites.
    Bake at 350\u00b0.
