Turtle Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box German chocolate cake mix
    1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk
    1 stick butter, melted
    1 (16 oz.) bag caramels
    1 c. chocolate chips
    nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Blend the cake mix, 1 cup milk and butter until smooth. Spread half of batter into a 9 x 13-inch greased pan.
    Bake for 15 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Melt caramels in remaining milk and spread over top of warm cake.
    Sprinkle chips and nuts on top of caramel mixture.
    Spread rest of cake batter on top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for another 15 minutes.
    Cool and cut.
