Holiday Cherries - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. cherries
    1/2 lb. sugar cubes
    1 pt. whiskey
    1 Tbsp. allspice
    1 Tbsp. cinnamon
    1 Tbsp. whole cloves, heads removed
Preparation
    Wash and seed whole, ripe fruit.
    Remove blossom end and all imperfections.
    Put through food chopper (coarse blade).
    Barely cover with cold water and cook until tender.
    Measure and add equal amount of sugar.
    Cook until thick over low heat.
    Pour into sterilized jars and seal.
