Good Luck Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. rhubarb (about 2 doz. stalks)
    water to cover
    3 c. sugar
    2 c. water
    juice of 6 lemons
    1 c. pineapple juice
    rhubarb juice
    1 qt. ginger ale
Preparation
    Cut rhubarb in 1-inch pieces. Add water to cover. Cook until soft, about 10 minutes. Drain through cheesecloth bag or sugar sack. Measure: should be 3 quarts juice. Dissolve sugar in 2 cups water. Cook 10 minutes to make a syrup. Add lemon juice, pineapple and rhubarb juices. Pour over chunk of ice in punch bowl. Just before serving, add ginger ale. Makes 1 gallon (24 servings).
