Ground Beef In Cabbage Leaves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium cabbage
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 egg
    1/2 c. cracker crumbs
    salt and pepper
    1 can tomatoes, mashed
    cheese slices
Preparation
    Remove and wash outside cabbage leaves.
    Place in kettle of very hot water until wilted; drain.
    Chop remaining cabbage and combine with half the onion.
    Spread in roasting pan and sprinkle with salt/pepper.
    Combine remaining onion, beef, egg, cracker crumbs, salt and pepper.
    Shape into small oblong rolls.
    Roll each tightly in a cabbage leaf.
    Place on top of chopped cabbage in roaster.
    Pour tomatoes over all.
    Cover and bake at 250\u00b0 for one hour until done.
    Makes 8 to 12 rolls.
