Texas Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 lb. cubed beef stew meat
    beer (enough to marinate the beef)
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. chopped green peppers
    1 c. chopped onions
    4 c. chopped fresh tomatoes
    1 3/4 c. tomato sauce
    5 1/2 c. cooked pinto beans, drained
    2 Tbsp. chili powder
    4 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
    up to 1/4 c. chopped jalapeno pepper*
    1/8 c. vegetable oil
    4 tsp. cumin
    1 tsp. oregano
    up to 5 Tbsp. Tabasco sauce*
Preparation
    *This is medium hot chili.
    Reduce jalapeno pepper and Tabasco sauce for milder sauce.
