Congo Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. shortening
    1 lb. box light brown sugar
    3 eggs
    2 3/4 c. plain flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate morsels
Preparation
    Melt shortening over low heat.
    Add brown sugar.
    Mix well. Let cool.
    Add eggs and blend.
    Combine flour, baking powder and salt and add to sugar mixture.
    Mix well.
    Add nuts and chocolate morsels.
    Spread in a greased 15 x 10 x 1-inch pan and bake at 325\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Cool and cut into squares.
    Makes 4 to 5 dozen.
