Apple-Walnut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. coarsely chopped McIntosh apples
    2 c. sugar
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    1/2 c. vegetable oil
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour, spooned into cup
    2 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. raisins
    1 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Combine apples and sugar; let stand. Beat eggs, oil and vanilla until smooth. Mix together flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt; stir into egg mixture, alternating with apple mixture. Blend in raisins and walnuts. Pour into buttered and floured 13 x 9 pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean. Let stand in pan until cool, then turn out on wire rack. Frost with Lemon Butter Frosting and decorate with whole walnut meats.
