Sauerkraut Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sauerkraut (from pkg.)
    1 c. bean sprouts
    2 c. chopped celery
    1 green pepper, chopped
    1 small can water chestnuts
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. cider vinegar
Preparation
    Wash sauerkraut.
    Mix sugar and vinegar; heat until sugar melts.
    Pour sugar and vinegar mixture over all mixed ingredients. Refrigerate overnight.
    This salad keeps well for 1 to 2 weeks. (Packed sauerkraut can be found in the meat counter.)
